Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim visits Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, November 19, 2025 (FMC) – Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited the historic Adwa Victory Memorial Museum and the Addis Ababa International Convention Center (AICC) today, highlighting Ethiopia’s enduring legacy and its significance for global history.
Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie, welcomed the Malaysian leader and noted that the Adwa Victory Memorial and AICC are “sources of pride for Ethiopia and all people of African descent.”
The visit forms part of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s three-day official working visit to Ethiopia, following the reciprocal visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Malaysia in October 2024. The two leaders aim to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between their countries.
Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar was received by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, with whom he held bilateral discussions on avenues for collaboration in trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
