The forum has brought together over 2,000 delegates from more than 100 countries — including representatives from over 50 African nations — making it one of the most inclusive and wide-reaching conferences on digital identity held on the continent. Attendees include government leaders, digital identity experts, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders.

Opening the session, Executive Director of the National ID Ethiopia Program, Mr. Yodahe Zemichael, underscored the significance of Ethiopia’s digital ID system, known as Fayda, as a foundation for national development agenda.

He emphasized that a secure and trusted digital identity is essential for enabling citizens to access services, participate in the economy, and build resilient institutions.
