4th Int’l Conference on Financing for Development Kicks Off Today in Spain
Addis Ababa, June 30, 2025 (FMC) – The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) is set to take place from June 30 to July 3, 2025, in Seville, Spain.
The conference aims to address both longstanding and emerging challenges in global development financing, with a strong focus on accelerating the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing the reform of the international financial system.
FfD4 will evaluate global progress on commitments made under the Monterrey Consensus, the Doha Declaration, and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda.
Held at the highest political level, the conference will bring together Heads of State and Government, as well as key ministers responsible for finance, foreign affairs, and development cooperation, alongside other senior delegates.
Seen as a crucial milestone ahead of the 2030 deadline, the conference is expected to galvanize substantial investments and mobilize the scale of financing needed to realize the SDGs.
It is worth recalling that Ethiopia hosted the third Financing for Development Conference in 2015, where the landmark Addis Ababa Action Agenda was adopted—marking the most ambitious global framework to date for mobilizing resources in support of sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda.
