Ethiopost Unveils Digital Apps to Revolutionize Postal Services
Addis Ababa, December 30, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopian Post (Ethiopost) has launched two new digital applications, “Virtual Post Box” and “Post Market,” aimed at putting the Digital Ethiopia strategy into action and taking the company’s operations to the next level.
In his remarks at the launch event, Ethiopia’s Industry Minister Melaku Alebel said the new apps will transform the Digital Ethiopia strategy into action and elevate Ethiopost’s operations to the next level.
The minister added that the apps are a testament to Ethiopia’s progress in its modernization journey.
In particular, he said the Post Market app will reduce trade barriers faced by small and medium enterprises and increase their competitiveness on a global scale.
Ethiopost CEO Dagmawi Hayliye said Ethiopost has a long history of delivering messages and goods from one end of the world to the other.
He explained that the applications announced today are moving forward by integrating modern technology with the company’s traditional services.
He also stated that the system will allow post office customers without a personal mailbox number to use their own phone number as a postal address.
According to him, customers will receive instant information on the arrival of their items or messages via their phones.
He reminded that by delivering items to customers at their current addresses, it will also eliminate the waste of money and inconvenience that existed previously.
Dagmawi added that the new system, combined with the company’s long-standing experience, will increase customer satisfaction.
