FM Gedion Holds Talks with UK Foreign Secretary on Bilateral Ties, Regional Issues

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, conferred with the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper, this morning at his office in Addis Ababa.

The two ministers discussed the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United Kingdom, underscoring the importance of further elevating cooperation to a new level.

They also exchanged views on regional peace and security issues of mutual interest, reaffirming the need for continued engagement on shared regional priorities.
