10th Regular Session of Ethiopian Parliament Commences in Presence of PM Abiy Ahmed

Addis Ababa, February 3, 2026 (FMC) — The Ethiopian Parliament commenced its 10th regular session this morning in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), with the Prime Minister set to present a mid-year assessment of the federal government’s performance and outline priorities for the remainder of the 2025/26 fiscal year.

During the session, the Prime Minister is expected to brief lawmakers on progress across key sectors, including economic management, political affairs, social development, and diplomacy, highlighting achievements, ongoing initiatives, and planned actions.

He will also respond to questions from members of parliament, providing clarification on government policies, implementation progress, and sector-specific performance.

The session offers lawmakers an opportunity to assess government performance, hold the executive accountable, and engage directly with the Prime Minister on national development priorities.

The meeting has drawn members of parliament, leaders of competitive political parties, diplomats, and community elders.
