Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed touches down in Kombolcha city of Amhara region

Addis Ababa, February 6, 2026 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew, arrived in Kombolcha city of the Amhara region today, his office confirmed in a social media post.

Upon landing at Wollo Kombolcha Airport, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome, including blessings from local elders.

The Office of the Prime Minister has not released further details regarding the purpose of the visit to the eastern part of Ethiopia’s Amhara regional state.
