King Letsie III of Lesotho Arrives in Addis Ababa Ahead of AU and Italy-Africa Summits
Addis Ababa, February 11, 2026 (FMC) – His Majesty King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho arrived in Addis Ababa on Wednesday to participate in the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for February 14–15.
His Majesty was welcomed at Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Addisu Arega.
The arrival of King Letsie III is part of a broader movement of African leaders entering Ethiopia’s capital ahead of the AU Summit, which will bring together heads of state and government to discuss key continental issues, including peace and security, regional integration, and sustainable development.
Addis Ababa is also hosting the 2nd Italy-Africa Summit, which aims to deepen political and economic partnerships between Italy and African countries, with a focus on trade, investment, development cooperation, and regional security.
