PM Abiy Reviews Sorga Eco Lodge Construction in East Wollega Zone

Addis Ababa, February 19, 2026 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed continued his two-day visit to the Wollega area of Oromia Region on Thursday, observing development initiatives across Qellem, East, and West Wollega Zones.

Today, he reviewed the construction of the Sorga Eco Lodge along the shores of Sorga Lake in East Wollega Zone, highlighting its progress and potential benefits for the region.

The lodge, covering 14 hectares and located just 6 km from Nekemte City, is advancing rapidly. According to the Prime Minister, it is “expected to be completed soon.”

He emphasized that the project is designed to preserve the local environment while providing jobs for skilled professionals in construction and hospitality. “It will support the surrounding community and promote sustainable tourism in the region,” he added in a post published on his social media pages.
