Addis Ababa, March 22, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Office of the Prime Minister said Niin Lee Palm Lodge, part of the Dine for Generations Prime Ministerial initiative, is a model for luxury tourism and sustainable regional development in the Afar Region.
Set across 78,000 square meters of landscaped grounds with fruit and forest trees, the lodge features a natural hot spring pool known as the “Blue Eye,” two artificial lakes, and a 3.2-kilometer scenic hiking trail. Accommodation includes two presidential villas with private pools, twelve connected bedrooms, and sixteen one-bedroom units. The facility also offers specialised dining, a reception block, a conference hall, office spaces, parking, and a dual-capacity helipad.
The PMO said Niin Lee Palm Lodge is expected to attract high-end tourism, host conferences, and create employment opportunities across the hospitality and service sectors, contributing to regional economic growth.
The Office added that the lodge reflects the objectives of the Dine for Generations program, delivering a world-class destination while promoting sustainable development for local communities and the nation.
The Lodge has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today.
