Ethiopia to welcome 30,000 participants at Africa CDC’s major public health conference
Addis Ababa, March 27, 2026 (FMC) — Addis Ababa, often referred to as the capital of global diplomacy, has been selected to host the 5th International Public Health Conference in Africa, reinforcing its status as a leading destination for major international events.
Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye, held productive preliminary discussions today with a delegation led by Jean Kaseya, Director General of Africa CDC, focusing on preparations for the upcoming conference.
In recognizing Ethiopia’s strong hosting capacity and renowned hospitality, Africa CDC chose Addis Ababa as the venue for this major international gathering, which is expected to attract over 30,000 participants in person.
Ambassador Berhanu reaffirmed the Government’s full commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure the successful organization of the conference, highlighting the strategic importance Ethiopia places on this milestone event.
