Ethiopia’s President and Equatorial Guinea Leader Discuss Regional Cooperation at OACPS Summit

Addis Ababa, March 28, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s President Taye Atske-Selassie held talks with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea on the sidelines of the 11th Summit of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) in Malabo.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation on regional issues, reflecting both countries’ commitment to deepening political and strategic ties.

At the summit, President Taye also addressed the gathering of leaders from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, as well as representatives of the United Nations, African Union, and European Union.

In his speech, he called for stronger, genuine partnerships among member states, emphasized strategic multilateralism, and highlighted priorities such as sustainable development, climate resilience, and digital innovation.
