Ethiopia, Burundi United by Deep Bonds of Brotherhood and Shared Commitment to Peaceful, Prosperous Africa – PM Abiy Ahmed
Addis Ababa, June 24, 2026 (FMC) – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has said that Ethiopia and Burundi are united by deep bonds of brotherhood and a shared commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Africa.
In a social media post on platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Abiy thanked Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye for his congratulatory message conveyed on behalf of Burundi and the African Union following Ethiopia’s 7th General Election victory.
Prime Minister Abiy expressed appreciation for what he described as warm congratulations that he said were uplifting.
He said Ethiopia and Burundi stand united by deep bonds of brotherhood and a shared commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Africa.
The Prime Minister added that Ethiopia values the friendship between the two countries and looks forward to strengthening their partnership for the benefit of their peoples and the continent.
