Addis Ababa, June 24, 2026 (FMC) – The “Ethiopia Delivers” Summit, held on June 23, 2026, brought together Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Executive Secretary Claver Gatete, and senior government officials to review Ethiopia’s ongoing national transformation across key sectors of the economy.

The discussions focused on the country’s shift from reform implementation to results-driven delivery, with emphasis on coordinated progress across infrastructure, energy, agriculture, mining, digital transformation, urban development, and macroeconomic stability.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said Ethiopia is moving beyond reform implementation into a phase focused on measurable results across key sectors of national development.

The Prime Minister underscored infrastructure and energy as central pillars of Ethiopia’s transformation agenda, forming the backbone of long-term national development.

Mandefro Nigussie said agriculture has transitioned from subsistence to commercial production under the Ten-Year Development Plan, with strengthened agribusiness systems, import substitution efforts, and flagship initiatives such as “Yelemat Tirufat,” supported by digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

Myriam Said said Ethiopia is integrating digital identity systems, payment platforms, data exchange frameworks, and connected public services to build an integrated digital economy and an AI-ready national system.

Tiguist Fisseha said Ethiopia is advancing toward a new urban development model focused on productive, inclusive, livable, and smart cities under a polycentric system designed to drive jobs and shared prosperity.

Eyob Tekalign said macroeconomic reforms have strengthened stability and credibility by reducing inflation pressures, liberalizing the exchange rate system, modernizing monetary and fiscal frameworks, and reinforcing the financial sector to support broad-based growth.
