Benin President Arrives in Ethiopia for Official Working Visit

Addis Ababa, July 13, 2026 (FMC) — President Romuald Wadagni of Benin arrived here in Addis Ababa on Monday for an official working visit to Ethiopia.

Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport, the Beninese leader was welcomed by Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh.

In a message shared on social media following the welcoming ceremony, DPM Temesgen said it was a distinct honor to receive President Wadagni to Ethiopia, describing the country as the cradle of humanity, a land of ancient civilizations, and a nation whose history reflects resilience, dignity, and renewal.

The deputy prime minister expressed confidence that the visit would be both productive and memorable, and would further strengthen the longstanding bonds of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between Ethiopia and Benin for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
