National Dialogue Marks New Chapter in Ethiopia’s Nation-Building Journey

Addis Ababa, July 15, 2026 (FMC) — The long-awaited and historic National Dialogue platform, which brings Ethiopians together from across the country around the table, is set to begin shortly, marking a new and critical chapter in Ethiopia’s history, the Office of the Prime Minister said.

The Office of the Prime Minister described the dialogue as a vital nation-building process that carries significance for both current and future generations, emphasizing its role in creating public consensus and a shared national narrative.

According to the office, the National Dialogue represents an important step in Ethiopia’s effort to address national questions through dialogue and collective understanding, noting that the process reflects a vision of building the country on public consensus rather than conflict.

The office further stated that the historic platform brings together Ethiopians from all corners of the country to engage in a shared conversation aimed at shaping a common future.
