India Becomes World’s Largest Milk Producer, Third-Largest Automobile Market: PM Modi
Addis Ababa, July 16, 2026 (FMC) — India has strengthened its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighting the country’s growing global leadership in agriculture, manufacturing and telecommunications, TV BRICS reported, citing its Indian media partner IANS.
According to the report, Modi said India is now the world’s largest producer of milk, the second-largest manufacturer of mobile phones and the world’s second-largest telecommunications market.
He also noted that India has become the world’s third-largest automobile market, underscoring the rapid growth of the country’s industrial and consumer sectors.
The Prime Minister said these milestones reflect India’s sustained economic transformation despite ongoing global uncertainty.
He attributed the country’s progress to long-term reforms, expanding manufacturing capacity and rising domestic demand, which he said have further strengthened India’s position in global value chains.
