African Union Announces Dates for AU Summit 2026 Meetings
Addis Ababa, January 5, 2026 (FMC) — The African Union has announced that preparations are underway for the AU Summit 2026, with Member States set to convene at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa to advance the continent’s shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous and integrated Africa.
In a statement shared on its official social media platforms, the African Union outlined the schedule of meetings to be held as part of the summit process. Accordingly, the 51st Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) will take place from 12 to 30 January 2026.
The 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council is scheduled for 11 to 12 February 2026, followed by the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, which will be held from 14 to 15 February 2026.
