President Taye Says “Made in #Ethiopia” Expo Reflects Nation’s Industrial Progress, Future Potential

Addis Ababa, May 7, 2026 (FMC) – Ethiopian President Taye Atske-Selassie said the ongoing Made in Ethiopia Expo 2026 is demonstrating both the country’s growing industrial achievements and its promising future prospects.

President Taye made the remarks today while visiting the Fourth Made in Ethiopia Expo, currently underway at the Addis International Convention Center under the theme “Made in Ethiopia for Multifaceted Sovereignty.”

The expo remains open to the public for the next days.

Emphasizing the critical role of industry in national development, the President stressed the need to further strengthen ongoing efforts aimed at accelerating Ethiopia’s development trajectory.

He noted that the locally manufactured products showcased at the exhibition carry significant value not only in supporting import substitution efforts, but also in attracting investment and generating capital.

Commenting on the export-standard products displayed at the expo, President Taye stated that many of them have already secured market access.

According to the President, the exhibition serves as a demonstration of how Ethiopia’s production capacity, expertise, and knowledge are evolving into a new stage of industrial transformation.

He also indicated that agro-processed products featured at the expo could gain strong acceptance in international markets, particularly due to their organic value.

Countries with strong manufacturing self-sufficiency are better positioned to stand independently and safeguard their sovereignty, the President said, calling on local manufacturers to intensify efforts toward strengthening national sovereignty.
