Addis Ababa, July 5, 2026 (FMC) โ The Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie, today inaugurated the 30th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center in Lemi Kura Sub-City of Addis Ababa, which has begun providing services to support vulnerable residents.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor said the expansion of such facilities reflects the City Administrationโs continued efforts to strengthen social support systems and extend assistance to citizens in need.
She emphasized the importance of reinforcing a culture of unity, solidarity, and collective responsibility in addressing social and economic challenges across the city.
Mayor Adanech noted that the expansion of people-centered initiatives demonstrates the governmentโs sustained commitment to improving living conditions and ensuring broader access to essential social services for vulnerable groups.
She explained that the Tesfa Birhan Feeding Centers are designed to support residents without stable income as part of the cityโs urban safety-net and social protection programs.
The Mayor also expressed appreciation to stakeholders who contributed to the establishment and operationalization of the facility.
In addition to expanding feeding centers, the City Administration is working to create sustainable employment opportunities for residents, she added.
The newly inaugurated facility is the 30th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center in Addis Ababa and the fourth in Lemi Kura Sub-City, it has been learned.
