2nd Ethiopia-Djibouti Business Boosting Conference Kicks Off in Djibouti

Addis Ababa, September 29, 2025 (FMC) — The 2nd Ethiopia-Djibouti Business Boosting Conference has opened in Djibouti today under the theme “Logistics Facilitation for Regional Business Integration”, bringing together key stakeholders from both countries to strengthen cooperation in logistics and trade.

The conference aims to deepen logistics collaboration between Ethiopia and Djibouti, with a particular focus on improving the efficiency of the Ethiopia–Djibouti Corridor, a lifeline for regional commerce.

The opening session was attended by Mr. Aynalem Abayneh, Vice President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), Mohamed Warsama Dirieh, Djibouti’s Minister of Trade and Tourism, and leaders of sectoral associations from both nations.

Speaking on the occasion, Elizabeth Getahun, President of the Ethio Logistics Sectoral Association (ELSA), said the gathering provides an opportunity to tackle persistent challenges in the logistics sector while advancing sustainable business growth.

She emphasized that the conference symbolizes a stronger regional partnership that can unlock opportunities for transformation.

Djibouti’s Minister of Trade and Tourism, Mohamed Warsama Dirieh, stressed that the initiative would bolster trade ties between the two countries and enhance the effectiveness of the Ethiopia–Djibouti Corridor.

He highlighted its role as a platform for connectivity, knowledge exchange, and strategic collaboration.

Participants underscored that such partnerships play a pivotal role in strengthening logistics capacity and accelerating regional integration.

The conference was jointly organized by ELSA in collaboration with ECCSA, the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and TradeMark Africa (TMA).
