Addis Ababa, July 7, 2025 (FMC) — The 3rd African Job Creation Forum opened today in Addis Ababa, reaffirming continental resolve to unlock Africa’s employment potential through innovation, regional integration, and agro-industrial transformation.
The high-level forum was officially launched in the presence of Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Ethiopia’s Minister of Labor and Skills Muferihat Kamil, and a wide array of African ministers, policymakers, experts, and academics.
Now in its third consecutive edition hosted by Ethiopia, the forum has emerged as a strategic platform to translate Africa’s vast demographic potential into meaningful and sustainable job opportunities—particularly for youth.
This year’s gathering takes on special significance, aligning with the 5th Africa Integration Day and convening under the theme: “Advancing Job Creation and Economic Resilience through Regional Integration, Digital and Financial Inclusion along Agricultural Value Chains in the AfCFTA Market.”
The three-day event, running from July 7–9 at the Adwa Victory Memorial, places a strong emphasis on leveraging the agricultural sub-economy to drive inclusive employment growth. Discussions center on how digital tools, inclusive finance, regional trade integration, and agro-innovation can transform agriculture into a powerful engine for job creation across the continent.
The forum is jointly organized by the Ethiopian Government, the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, and the AeTrade Group. It continues to serve as a continental springboard for scaling up youth-focused employment solutions, aligning policy and investment with Africa’s broader goals for economic resilience and prosperity.
