Addis Ababa, July 26, 2025 (FMC) — Ministers of Agriculture from Mali, Gambia, Kenya, and Zambia have arrived in Addis Ababa to take part in the second United Nations Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+4), set to be held from July 27–29, 2025.
Mali’s Minister of Agriculture, Daniel Siméon Kelema, and Gambia’s Minister of Agriculture, Demba Sabally, landed in the capital earlier this evening.
They were received at Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s State Minister of Justice, Ermias Yemanebirhan; State Minister of Agriculture, Professor Eyasu Elias; and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kenya’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mutahi Kagwe, and Zambia’s Minister of Agriculture, Reuben Mtolo Phiri, also arrived in Addis Ababa tonight. The two ministers were welcomed by State Minister of Industry, Tarekegn Bululta, and State Minister of Health, Saharla Abdulahi.
The summit, hosted by Ethiopia in collaboration with the United Nations, serves as a platform to assess global progress on transforming food systems and ensuring nutrition and food security. High-level delegates from across Africa and beyond are expected to participate.
