Addis Ababa, February 11, 2026 (FMC) – Addis Ababa is receiving foreign ministers from across the continent for the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), held as part of the 39th AU Summit.
Foreign ministers continued to arrive in the Ethiopian capital on Monday to take part in the high-level session, which brings together the chief diplomats of AU member states to deliberate on key policy matters and prepare decisions for consideration by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
Among those arriving this morning were South Sudan’s Foreign Minister Monday Semaya Kumba; Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Seychelles’ Foreign Minister Barry Faure; Senegal’s Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang; Togo’s Foreign Minister Robert Dussey; Central African Republic’s Foreign Minister Sylvie Valerie Notefe Born Baipo-Temon; Tanzania’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo; and Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti.
Also arriving in Addis Ababa was Noella Nakwipone Ayeganagato, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The dignitaries were welcomed at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
As the seat of the African Union, Addis Ababa is once again serving as the diplomatic hub for continental deliberations during the summit proceedings.
