Bilateral trade and private-sector collaboration between Ethiopia and UAE set to accelerate

Addis Ababa, March 26, 2026 (FMC) – Ethiopia and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have agreed to step up cooperation to expand trade, investment, and private-sector partnerships between the two sides.

This was disclosed following a meeting between Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the UAE, Jemal Beker, and Ali Mohammed Al Marzooqi, Director General of the Chamber, to discuss ways to boost economic engagement.

On the occasion, Ambassador Jemal outlined his country’s economic reforms, investment incentives, and priority sectors, emphasizing the Chamber’s role in promoting business-to-business connections under the 2025 cooperation agreement.

The ambassador invited the Chamber to send a delegation of companies to Ethiopia for on-site investment exploration and to promote the country’s upcoming high-level investment forum.

Al Marzooqi confirmed the Chamber’s support, offering to publicize the forum, request detailed investment packages for its members, and provide a complimentary booth for Ethiopia at Abu Dhabi Business Week, scheduled for April 6–9, 2026.

The meeting highlighted a mutual commitment to expanding trade, investment, and private-sector collaboration between Ethiopia and the UAE.
