BRICS Parliamentary Forum to be held in Brazil in June

Addis Ababa, May 8, 2025 (FMC) – The 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum will be held in Brasilia from June 3 to 5, 2025. Delegations from 31 legislative bodies and about 150 parliamentarians are expected to participate.

It is specified that the meetings will take place in the meeting room of the upper house of parliament and specialized commissions. Following the meeting, a document with key conclusions will be published.

The meeting of women parliamentarians is expected on June 3. A meeting of the chairmen of the committees on international issues will also take place then. The opening ceremony of the forum and working sessions are planned for the following day. The final sessions and closing will take place on June 5.

The BRICS Parliamentary Forum has been held since 2015, but for the first time in its history it is hosted by Brazil. Last year, the meeting was held in St. Petersburg, as reported by TV BRICS, citing the Federal Senate of Brazil.

In 2025, the country will chair the association, advancing priority issues such as global health, sustainable trade, the climate agenda, artificial intelligence governance, reform of the international security architecture, and institutional development. The BRICS Leaders’ Summit will be held on July 6–7, 2025 in Rio de Janeiro.
