Addis Ababa, October 15, 2026 (FMC) — A high-level expert delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has arrived here in Addis Ababa to assess Ethiopia’s bid and preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The delegation was welcomed at Bole International Airport by Minister of Women and Sport Dr. Aklilu Tadesse, along with senior officials from the Ministry and the Ethiopian Football Federation.
The delegation’s arrival marks a key step in the assessment of Ethiopia’s official hosting bid, submitted in August, as the country seeks to bring Africa’s premier men’s football tournament back to Ethiopian soil.
