Addis Ababa, July 14, 2025 (FMC) — A Chinese company has created an AI model to support a decision-support system in the power industry.
The model optimises every phase of the energy cycle – from strengthening safety and environmental protection to supporting power trading, generation planning, and equipment maintenance, TV BRICS reported, citing its partner media China Daily.
The model shifts maintenance from reactive repairs to predictive failure prevention in line with national standards. Simultaneously, it delivers continuous monitoring of equipment condition throughout its operational lifecycle and reinforces oversight of process safety and environmental protection.
The AI model also enhances power-trading decisions by accurately forecasting weather changes, assessing water-related risks, and conducting real-time market analysis.
According to the source, the model has improved the accuracy of meteorological data, such as wind speed forecasts, and increased the accuracy of power generation forecasts by 2.8 per cent.
The project aims to modernise power generation procedures and bring China’s energy sector to a new level of digital management.
