Addis Ababa, May 21, 2025 (FMC) — The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that the Election Board Leadership Nominating Committee has presented its final report to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD).
The committee conducted a thorough screening process to evaluate candidates for leadership positions within the National Election Board. Following a three-stage assessment, six candidates were shortlisted in accordance with the relevant proclamation.
The final nominees are Mr. Tesfaye Neway, Mr. Teklit Yemesl, Ms. Nesi Ali, Ms. Daro Jemal, Ms. Frehiwot Girma, and Dr. Yared Habte-Mariam.
It is worth recalling that the committee was established by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on March 31, 2025, to oversee the transparent and merit-based selection of leadership for the Election Board.
