Addis Ababa, September 20, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh emphasized the importance of equipping youth with modern technological skills, saying the current generation should seize new opportunities while avoiding the inheritance of conflict and challenges.
Deputy PM Temesgen made the remarks while attending the graduation ceremony of students who completed the AI Summer Camp 2025 at the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute.
The program, offered by the government over the past three years, aims to inspire and equip young Ethiopians with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
“By cultivating a generation attuned to the demands of our time and aligned with the global AI revolution, this initiative strengthens national development,” he said.
The training equips students to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions to pressing challenges, preparing them to be globally competitive in the AI sector.
Deputy PM Temesgen reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing an educated and enlightened generation across all sectors and extended his gratitude to the leadership and staff of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute for their dedication in turning this vision into reality.
