Addis Ababa, July 21, 2025 (FMC) — The Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) is in a fortified and vigilant position to repel any threat from any direction, Chief of Staff Field Marshal Berhanu Jula affirmed today.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a military performance review held by the Dallol Central Command in Jimma under the theme “We Will Strive for a Great Victory on a Strong Foundation,” Field Marshal Berhanu emphasized that the ENDF remains unwavering in its core mission to safeguard the nation and uphold its sovereignty.
“The army is in a secure position to repel any attack, just as it has always done throughout our history,” the Field Marshal stated, adding that Ethiopia’s legacy of resilience and heroism is both globally recognized and historically proven.
Reaffirming the ENDF’s critical role in preserving national dignity, he praised the Dallol Central Command for its contributions to stability in Ethiopia’s southwestern regions and called on the command to further reinforce its readiness.
Field Marshal Berhanu also issued a call to armed groups operating in various parts of the country, urging them to lay down their arms and choose peace. “Peace is not only essential — it is a priority,” he said.
Major General Abdro Kedir, Deputy Commander of the Dallol Central Command for Operations, reported that the Command has been executing its duties with valor and commitment wherever deployed. He highlighted the successful stabilization efforts around the Wollega areas, made possible through close coordination with local communities.
He also noted that the Command continues to play a constructive role beyond its military responsibilities, engaging in voluntary community service and organizing public events that promote peace and solidarity.
The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Zewdu Belay, Commander of the Dallol Central Command, along with other senior military officials, civil leaders, and residents of Jimma City.
