Addis Ababa, April 28, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has underscored the critical role of summer irrigation farming in strengthening Ethiopia’s path toward food self-sufficiency.
In a social media post today, the Prime Minister noted that summer irrigation farming represents an important step in Ethiopia’s efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency.
He added that continued effort, commitment, and improved use of water resources will help the country move toward a more secure and sustainable future where it can reliably feed itself.
