Addis Ababa, January 16, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia and the European Union have reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism and a rules-based international order amid a shifting global geopolitical landscape.
President Taye Atske-Selassie disclosed the commitment on Thursday after meeting Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the European External Action Service, in Addis Ababa.
Following the meeting, the president said both sides agreed to elevate Ethiopia–European Union relations to a new level, underscoring their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
