Ethiopia secures $13.1 billion in investment commitments at 2026 “Invest in Ethiopia” high-level business forum

Addis Ababa, March 27, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia has secured investment agreements worth $13.1 billion following the conclusion of the “Invest in Ethiopia 2026” Forum, underscoring growing investor interest across key sectors of the economy, Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) confirmed.

The agreements, signed during the forum’s closing session, span manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, energy, construction, and other strategic areas, reflecting broad-based investment commitments.

The deals are expected to play a significant role in job creation, foreign exchange generation, and the transfer of technology, reinforcing their importance to the country’s economic development agenda.

The outcome of the 2026 forum marks a notable increase compared to the “Invest in Ethiopia 2025” Forum, where agreements totaling $1.6 billion were signed. Those projects are now fully operational and contributing to economic growth, according to the information released.

The latest commitments further reinforce Ethiopia’s standing as an emerging investment destination, while the forum continues to serve as a platform for forging new partnerships and deepening ongoing investment engagement.
