Addis Ababa, October 12, 2026 (FMC) — A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by National Bank of Ethiopia Governor Eyob Tekalign has arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, and begun engagements at the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
The delegation includes State Minister of Finance Tigist Fisseha and is taking part in the weeklong meetings, which bring together policymakers, international financial institutions and development partners to discuss global economic developments and development priorities.
The meetings provide Ethiopia with a platform to engage international financial institutions and development partners on the country’s economic priorities, strengthen cooperation and exchange perspectives on the evolving global economic landscape.
Ethiopia’s participation comes as the Annual Meetings, running from October 12 to 18, bring global economic and financial leaders together to discuss development financing, investment, economic stability and opportunities to advance sustainable growth.
