Addis Ababa, October 28, 2025 (FMC) — The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) has commenced its second regular session of the fifth year of the sixth parliamentary term this morning in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD).
During the ongoing session, members of parliament are presenting their questions and remarks to the Prime Minister regarding major national issues, including the government’s performance and strategic priorities for the current Ethiopian fiscal year.
Prime Minister Abiy is expected to respond to the questions later in the session, providing clarifications and elaborating on the federal government’s key undertakings, achievements, and policy directions.
The questions raised by lawmakers are based on the address delivered earlier this month by President Taye Atske-Selassie during the joint opening session of the House of People’s Representatives and the House of the Federation on October 6, 2025.
Today’s session is attended by ambassadors and diplomats from various countries, representatives of international and regional organizations based in Addis Ababa, religious leaders, elders, representatives of competitive political parties, and other invited guests.
