Addis Ababa, December 5, 2025 (FMC) – Eleven Ethiopian teachers from various vocational institutions have arrived at Zhengzhou Vocational College of Information Technology in China to participate in a training program on “Automotive Inspection and Maintenance Technology.”
The initiative is part of a broader China-Ethiopia vocational education cooperation effort aimed at advancing skills transfer and educational collaboration.
The host college provided comprehensive support for the teachers, including fully equipped on-campus housing, diverse meal options, and campus access arrangements. Transportation and logistical plans were carefully coordinated to ensure the visiting teachers could focus fully on their training.
The program was officially launched on November 28 with an opening ceremony. President Wu Jianwei described the initiative as a key component of the Belt and Road Initiative and a step toward deeper international educational cooperation, emphasizing collaboration to advance automotive technology expertise.
Ethiopian teacher representative Alebachew Filimon Abebe thanked the hosts and pledged to fully engage in the program.
The curriculum combines theoretical lessons with hands-on exercises, on-site demonstrations, and discussions to ensure participants acquire advanced skills applicable to their teaching back in Ethiopia.
The program is expected to enable these teachers to adopt new methodologies and technologies, nurturing skilled professionals to support Ethiopia’s industrialization and vocational education development, it has been learned.
Beyond technical training, the program fosters cultural and academic exchange, strengthening people-to-people connections between China and Ethiopia and contributing to broader China-Africa educational cooperation.
