Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos Addresses Thinktank Roundtable at Hudson Institute

Addis Ababa, May 12, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos today met with researchers and area specialists from leading thinktanks at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., United States.

At the roundtable, Minister Gedion outlined Ethiopia’s economic growth and development model, along with the country’s political outlook. He also briefed participants on the latest regional developments and geopolitical dynamics shaping the Horn of Africa.

During a detailed question-and-answer session, the Minister emphasized that peace, stability, and security form the cornerstone of Ethiopia’s vision—essential foundations for promoting comprehensive prosperity for both the country and the wider region.

The Ethiopian top diplomat is on a working visit to the United States this week.
