Addis Ababa, August 14, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s National Dialogue has moved beyond agenda-level consensus toward the consolidation of a unified national outcome, with agreed recommendations from all eight working groups now being brought together for harmonization ahead of their presentation to the 4,000-member main conference.
The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission said the eight 500-member working groups are presenting their agreed recommendations to a newly established 120-member team mandated to review, harmonize and organize the outcomes of their deliberations.
The 120-member team comprises 15 representatives selected from each of the eight working groups, bringing together participants who took part in the deliberations on the respective agenda areas.
The team is reviewing the recommendations agreed upon under all eight agendas, ensuring coherence among the proposals, addressing any inconsistencies and creating a unified structure for the recommendations emerging from the dialogue.
The consolidated recommendations will subsequently be organized and presented to the 4,000-member main National Dialogue Conference, according to the Commission.
The Commission said the 120-member team is currently listening to recommendations submitted by representatives of the respective working groups as it undertakes the consolidation process.
The latest stage represents a significant transition in the National Dialogue—from deliberations and consensus-building within individual agenda groups toward bringing their outcomes together into a coherent national package of recommendations.
