Addis Ababa, February 10, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party officially launched its manifesto and electoral symbol on February 10, 2026, ahead of the 7th General Election.
Under the theme, “Ethiopia Towards an Exemplary Nation!”, the party unveiled a sheaf of wheat as its electoral symbol. The emblem reflects the party’s core philosophy of Medemer, symbolizing unity, collaboration, and collective strength.
According to the Prosperity Party, the sheaf of wheat also represents productivity and sustainable prosperity, conveying a vision in which the nation’s potential is realized through hard work and a balanced exercise of power. The emblem is further intended to signify blessing, balance of power, productivity, and prosperity.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by high-ranking Prosperity Party officials, including Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, and Vice President of the party and Head of the Democratic System Building Center at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, Adem Farah. Senior party leaders and distinguished guests were present to witness the launch of the roadmap guiding the party’s engagement with the Ethiopian public in the coming months.
The launch comes as Ethiopia prepares for the 7th General Election, officially scheduled by the National Election Board of Ethiopia for June 1, 2026. The Board has been laying the groundwork to ensure the electoral process is credible and inclusive.
In support of the upcoming polls, political parties have received specialized training to publicize their programs effectively. In a move toward modernization, candidate and observer registration will be conducted through newly developed software, while voter registration will combine digital and manual systems to ensure broad accessibility.
