Addis Ababa, March 10, 2026 (FMC) — Fana Media Corporation (FMC) has signed an agreement with China Media Group to screen Chinese TV programs including documentaries, cartoons and dramas.
Ambassador of China to Ethiopia, Chen Hai, Special Envoy and Plenipotentiary of China to Ethiopia, attended the signing ceremony and handed over the films to Fana Media Corporation.
Ambassador Chen Hai said on the occasion that the dramas will help strengthen people-to-people cooperation and cultural exchanges between Ethiopia and China.
He said that the strong media capacity built by Fana Media Corporation and the level of communication it has with Chinese media institutions make it an ideal place to screen the contents.
He stated that the media plays a significant role in sharing the culture, civilization, development and work experience of countries, and expressed his belief that FMC will contribute to taking the comprehensive diplomatic relations between the two countries to a higher level.
For his part, Mr. Admasu Damtew, CEO of Fana Media Corporation, said that FMC is working hard to reveal Ethiopia through its existing platforms to the world.
He said that screening Chinese films will not only enhance relations between Ethiopia and China, but also create opportunities for technical, technological support and knowledge transfer for the institution.
It is noteworthy that Fana Media Corporation is working in collaboration with many international partner media outlets, including TV BRICS.
