Addis Ababa, May 19, 2026 (FMC) – More than 80 embassies, international development partner organizations, and diplomats based in Addis Ababa conducted a field visit to Ethiopia’s major investment projects on Monday, in a program jointly organized by the Ethiopian Investment Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The diplomats commended Ethiopia’s expanding industrial base and growing investment ecosystem during the visit, which aimed to showcase the country’s improving investment climate, government support mechanisms, and ongoing developments across key economic sectors.
Participants toured several major investment destinations developed by both the government and private sector, including the ICT Park, Bole Lemi Industrial Park, and Kilinto Industrial Park, as well as private-sector-led projects by AMG Holdings and Joy Tech Business Group.
During the visit, the diplomats observed developments and investment opportunities in the manufacturing, technology and digital economy, agriculture, and tourism sectors. The role of Special Economic Zones in supporting industrial growth, job creation, and foreign exchange earnings was also highlighted.
The field visit brought together representatives of diplomatic missions and international partner organizations, offering them firsthand exposure to Ethiopia’s industrial transformation and investment potential.
