Addis Ababa, December 31, 2025 (FMC) – The Medemer State is prioritizing economic integration to expand global market access, Vice President of the Prosperity Party of Ethiopia and Head of the Democratic System Building Center with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, Adem Farah, said.
In a recent interview with Fana Media Corporation, he highlighted the Medemer State’s four-pronged economic strategy aimed at ensuring prosperity for all Ethiopians.
He explained that the first direction is implementing a multi-sector economic strategy, designed to accelerate Ethiopia’s prosperity by promoting structural transformation and building a green economy resilient to changing conditions.
The second direction is a multi-actor approach, in which all parties involved in the economy are expected to fulfill their individual and collective responsibilities properly.
He noted that the government will play a leading role in this process, acting as an active investor in sectors where the private sector is not yet involved.
The third direction emphasizes diversification. He said that a diversified economy identifies potential across all sectors, develops strategies to utilize it, and follows a path that allows for the full utilization of resources.
He explained that tangible results have already been achieved by focusing on industry, tourism, ICT, mining, and agriculture.
He further emphasized that ensuring diversification creates an economy in which everyone can participate and benefit fairly. By establishing equal opportunities for all, participation and economic activity will be accelerated, enabling the results of prosperity to be shared broadly, ensuring the journey to prosperity is inclusive.
The fourth direction is strengthening regional and international cooperation.
He said that universal prosperity can be achieved through collaboration, concentrating on economic integration, working together for mutual benefit, creating fair systems, and enabling domestic products to compete more effectively in global markets.
