IMF and World Bank 2025 Annual Meetings Set to Commence Today in Washington, D.C

Addis Ababa, October 13, 2025 (FMC) – The 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group are set to commence today, Monday, October 13, in Washington, D.C.

The IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings bring together central bankers, finance and development ministers, private sector leaders, civil society representatives, and academics. The program features seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and numerous sessions focused on international finance, economic growth, and global development strategies.

The meetings will run through October 18, providing a platform for participants to discuss pressing global economic and development issues.

It is noteworthy that a high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by Minister of Finance Mr. Ahmed Shide and National Bank Governor Mr. Eyob Tekalign, has travelled to the U.S. capital to participate in the meetings. The delegation is scheduled to engage with multilateral institutions and explore opportunities for collaboration in global development initiatives.
