Addis Ababa, May 21, 2026 (FMC) – The Information Network Security Administration (INSA) has opened registration for its 5th Cyber Talent Summer Camp, expanding the national program to six universities as part of efforts to build Ethiopia’s next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
The program targets teenagers and young people interested in technology and is designed to strengthen national cyber capacity while advancing the Digital Ethiopia 2030 Strategy and reinforcing Ethiopia’s digital sovereignty.
INSA said the expanded rollout reflects a stronger focus on digital inclusion, enabling participants to train closer to their home regions through partner universities rather than a single centralized center.
The one-month training will be delivered simultaneously at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Bahir Dar University, Debre Birhan University, Wolaita Sodo University, Haramaya University, and Jimma University.
According to INSA, more than 4,000 participants have already registered nationwide. Due to strong demand from parents and schools, the registration period has been extended, with additional measures introduced to broaden access.
Mr. Bishaw Beyene, Director of INSA’s Cyber Education Center, said cybersecurity resilience depends not only on technology but on sustained investment in skilled human capital and indigenous expertise. He said the program is designed to build a self-reliant national cybersecurity workforce capable of addressing emerging threats.
INSA urged interested youth to complete registration before the deadline and called on parents, schools, and stakeholders to support talent identification and participation.
