Indian Prime Minister Modi to Address Joint Session of Ethiopian Parliament Tomorrow

Addis Ababa, December 16, 2025 (FMC) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to arrive in Addis Ababa today for his first-ever official visit to Ethiopia, is expected to address a joint session of the House of People’s Representatives and the House of Federation tomorrow, the Ethiopian Parliament announced.

The joint session of the two houses will provide a platform for the Indian prime minister to share his views on India’s democratic experience and discuss ways to strengthen India-Ethiopia relations and broader cooperation in the Global South.

The Ethiopian Parliament said the session will be held tomorrow, marking one of the key engagements of Modi’s visit and reflecting the growing diplomatic and bilateral ties between the two countries.

The Ethiopia leg follows Modi’s visit to Jordan and precedes the final stop in Oman, completing his three-nation tour, which underscores India’s efforts to enhance partnerships across Africa and the Middle East.
