Leaders of Russia, China adopt joint statement on further deepening of relations between countries

Addis Ababa, May 9, 2025 (FMC) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a press conference following the talks. The parties signed a number of documents, according to a report from TV BRICS.

In particular, the Russian and Chinese leaders adopted joint statements on global strategic stability and on further deepening of relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, which have entered a new era. The second document was prepared to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

In addition, several intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents were signed, including an action plan on joint film production, a treaty on scientific cooperation, on cooperation in the sphere of digital transformation and digital economy, an agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments and other documents.

The talks between the Russian President and the Chinese President took place earlier in the day in a narrow and extended format. According to the report, they lasted 3.5 hours.
