Addis Ababa, June 19, 2025 (FMC) – The Mesob Center, a one-stop shop in Ethiopia, is providing 124 critical resident services, Civil Service Commissioner Mekuria Haile said.
The Mesob Center project is a government initiative that provides critical resident services that require physical attendance by the resident.
The initiative shortens the service delivery efficiency of the organizations and boost resident satisfaction.
Briefing the media about the holding of the 10th Continental African Public Service Day (APSD) and Africa Regional Forum on Governance Innovation in Ethiopia, Civil Service Commissioner Mekuria Haile commended the country’s progress in providing services through one-stop center.
Stating that Ethiopia is implementing reforms to modernize government service delivery and address the issue of good governance in a sustainable manner, he emphasized the country’s progress in terms of designing policy and legal framework and preparing public service and administration reform to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union Agenda 2063.
For the commissioner, Ethiopia is carrying out effective endeavors by launching Mesob Center that will make government services efficient and transparent, as reported by ENA.
Stating that 23 institutions have been providing the 124 services through the center, he revealed that all regions will have at least one Mesob Center by the New Ethiopian Year.
The recently inaugurated Mesob One-Stop Service Center brings together various government services under one roof, utilizing advanced digital technologies.
The center enables citizens to easily access the services of multiple federal institutions through a fully digital system, eliminating the need to visit multiple offices, enduring long queues, or handling cumbersome paper-based processes.
