Addis Ababa, March 9, 2026 (FMC) – Model rural villages being developed in the Harari Region demonstrate a practical approach to community-driven development, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said.
In a message shared on his social media pages following his visit to a rural corridor village in Sofi Woreda’s Burqa Kebele, the Prime Minister noted that the village was developed through strong community participation and the use of locally available materials.
According to Abiy, the model small village was built with active involvement from local residents, reflecting a development approach that integrates traditional construction methods with organized planning.
He added that the initiative highlights how locally driven efforts and community engagement can contribute to practical and sustainable rural development.
