Addis Ababa, May 30, 2025 (FMC) — The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the ongoing national dialogue is both inclusive and participatory, with the goal of finding lasting solutions to the country’s fundamental challenges.
A three-day federal-level stakeholders’ agenda collection and consultation meeting commenced today in Addis Ababa.
Opening the session, Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya underscored the Commission’s determination—working in close collaboration with stakeholders—to fulfill the aspirations of the Ethiopian people.
He indicated that incorporating the Tigray Regional State into the national dialogue process and gathering input from Ethiopians in the diaspora remain key priorities for the Commission.
Professor Mesfin reiterated the ENDC’s readiness to play its part in fostering a national dialogue that addresses the root causes of the country’s problems through broad participation and inclusion.
He also called on religious leaders, elders, political parties, media organizations, civic and professional associations, public figures, influential individuals, and democratic and law enforcement institutions to contribute meaningfully to the success of this historic national dialogue.
Commissioner Ambaye Ogato, for his part, emphasized that the time has come for Ethiopia and its citizens to take bold and courageous steps toward resolving the nation’s complex challenges through inclusive dialogue.
He urged all Ethiopians to take ownership of the process by contributing their knowledge, expertise, and time, noting that in this endeavor, there can be no bystanders.
Established on February 23, 2022, the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission is tasked with facilitating dialogue on the country’s most pressing issues.
Since its establishment, the Commission has been conducting extensive preparatory activities, including agenda collection across different regions and societal segments.
